    Ein Ausflug in eine andere Zeit und andere Welt

    Die Region um Schwaz ist bekannt als Silber-Region. Zentral im Tiroler Unterland gelegen, bietet das Schaubergwerk eine Ausflugsalternative bei Schlechtwetter, aber insbesondere auch bei Hitze. Eines vorweg: Mit all zu kleinen Kindern sollte man sich den Besuch gut überlegen, denn die Fahrt ins Bergewerk ist abenteuerlich. Es ist eben kein klassisches Ausflugsziel für Kinder. Wir waren mit unserem 5-jährigen Sohn und unserer 3,5-jährigen Tochter. Das hat gut geklappt, aber andere Familien hatten es mit weinenden Kindern zu tun. Das Bergwerk vermittelt von Anfang an eine mystische Stimmung und beengende Stollen wechseln mit hohen großen Räumen. Man erfährt viel über die Geschichte von Schwaz, über Mythologie und über die Umstände, unter denen damals das wertvolle Metall abgebaut wurde. Die Rolle der Habsburger und der europäischen Kriege, die Entwicklung der Region und des Silber-Abbaus selbst, werden bei der geführten Tour beleuchtet. Eine spannende Zeit unter Tage mit einigen Highlights. Die jeweils 800 Meter lange Fahrt mit dem Kumpel-Zug in und aus dem Berg ist nichts für schwache Nerven, für Freunde der Action aber großartig. Die Schaupuppen illustrieren die Umstände des Silberabbaus vor hunderten von Jahren. Ein gigantisches Wasserrad im Berg ist Zeuge vom Einfallsreichtum der Bergleute. Die Schürfspuren an den Wänden zahlreicher Stollen zeugen noch heute von dem Leben, das einst im Berg geherrscht hat.
    Ein toller Tipp für jedes Wetter (immer warm anziehen) und für Kinder ab 6 Jahren.
