The wild and romantic Tiefsteinklamm gorge can be reached from Schleedorf within 20 minutes on foot. The stream meanders deep through the conglomerate rock and flows into an impressive waterfall. Old legends say that legendary figures live in the numerous caves. The most famous are certainly the three wild women, two of whom wanted to cheat their blind sister out of her inheritance.
The Tiefsteinklamm is a natural jewel that is valued as a place of power. But the gorge is more than that, it is a lifeline that supplies the village with drinking water.
The gorge is especially appreciated by children, who have been building dams in the ice-cold water here for generations and letting their imagination run wild in creative play.
