Description Destination

With the Kolomanskirche on Kolomansberg, the fourth community belonging to the parish of Mondsee, namely Tiefgraben, also has a church. However, this is located near the mountain summit and can only be reached on foot from the Mondsee side.
The current building dates from 1742 and is constructed of wood.
We start at the Gasthof-Hochserner, where we immediately have the first great views over Mondsee and Irrsee
enjoy. At the edge of the forest we move left into the forest. Now we climb through a very natural forest until, after about 1 hour of climbing, the Koloman Church appears in front of us. At the summit there is also the Koloman fountain, which invites you to refresh yourself.
Two radar stations belonging to the Austrian Armed Forces are also located on the summit.
From the oldest wooden church in Austria, we initially go back the same way, but do not turn right at the cloister we passed before, but follow the path straight ahead to the Kolomanstaferl. Via the Hausstättergraben and the Schusterberg we return to our starting point.
