In Vilpian, the Möltner Bach rushes down into the valley as an 82 m high waterfall - a natural monument - and then forms the Vilpianer Waal. This natural spectacle is accessible all year round and delights both young and old. In summer in particular, the walk through the forest to the waterfall offers pleasant refreshment.
The water was also used by the former steam beer brewery. The Jewish Schwarz family founded one of the largest breweries in southern Tyrol in 1849, and in 1897 it was equipped with a state-of-the-art power plant and a Pelton turbine. This was powered by water and generated the necessary electricity until the company closed in 1986. The facility has been professionally restored in recent years and is freely accessible. The building now houses the state fire brigade school.
