Description Destination
When the winter fog wreaks havoc in the valley, sun worshippers are drawn up to the mountain. Walking and hiking trails lead through a breathtaking winter landscape, over sunny slopes, from hut to hut. Once you get there, warm up by the fireplace and enjoy regional food!
Winter hike for families:
- Circular route 8 km, suitable for families with children, dogs are also welcome!
- Partial routes also possible as small round trips (4 km)
- Prepared trails (accessible with or without snowshoes)
- Natural toboggan run along the way (toboggan rental in the hut next door)
- Rosser Hut, Huber Hut, Strobler Hut, Welser Hut
Description of the big round:
A sunny winter hike on perfectly prepared paths awaits you. It leads – starting from car park 1 – along the piste to the Rosser Hut and from there to car park 3. From here it continues over gentle hills to the Schafbergblick, where you can enjoy a unique view of Lake Wolfgang. After 40 minutes you reach the Huberhütte. Once you've had a bit of a boost, you can continue the last 30 minutes downhill on the natural toboggan run, past the Strobler and Welser huts back to the starting point.

Arrival via Upper Austria: Gmunden / Bad Ischl /Strobl:
Westautobahn A1 – Regau exit
on B 145 towards Bad Ischl
continue on B 158 – first exit St. Wolfgang / Strobl
then immediately right under the main road,
up via the Höhenstraße to the Postalm Winterpark.
Arrival via Salzburg – 2 options:
Via B159 towards Golling/Abtenau,
at the roundabout take the 3rd exit onto B 162,
continue on B 162 – take the Volgau exit,
over the bridge and turn right onto Lammerweg,
turn left onto Postalmstraße.
Via A1 – Thalgau exit,
B 158 towards Hof/Fuschl/St. Gilgen/Strobl
After entering the town, immediately right, follow Postalmstraße.
