Ship ahoy on Lake Wolfgang
Lake Wolfgang is one of the most beautiful lakes in the heart of Europe. The emerald green lake has always delighted its visitors with spectacular views in a unique landscape. The WolfgangseeSchifffahrt fleet has been commuting by water between the idyllic towns of St. Wolfgang, St. Gilgen and Strobl for over 145 years. In 1873, the paddle steamer "Kaiser Franz Josef I" was launched and, with its massive paddle wheels, is one of the most famous ships in Austrian shipping history. It is one of the oldest paddle steamers in the world and makes nostalgia fans rave. The often filmed nostalgic ship is still in use on Lake Wolfgang.
