East Tyrol - your mountain Tyrol captivates nature lovers with a true potpourri of outdoor experiences.
Not only Austria's highest mountain, the Grossglockner, can be found here, but also numerous other three-thousand-meter peaks that invite you to the most breathtaking mountain tours.
In addition, beautifully situated mountain huts invite you to enjoy wonderful mountain experiences and as a reward there are regional delicacies.
Each of the East Tyrolean valleys is different and has its own charm. Picturesque villages with old farmhouses, whose balconies are surrounded by lush flowers and charming churches give each place its original flair.
Lienz, the sunny city, attracts numerous locals and tourists to the city center in summer. There is always a lively atmosphere in the cafés and concerts are regularly held in the main square. Pretty boutiques delight shoppers. Palm trees and flowers decorate the city as well as lovely decorations on the houses.
Sporty people can not only let off steam while hiking and mountaineering, but also in high ropes and climbing gardens, rafting, canyoning and much more. Summer toboggan runs such as the Osttirodler offer fun for the whole family, as do adventure mini-golf courses, for example. B. at Zettersfeld or adventure mountains like the one at Golzentipp.
Outdoor and indoor swimming pools, museums, castles, palaces – the list for an extensive East Tyrolean leisure program is long.
Winter sports enthusiasts will also love East Tyrol.
