A trip like 100 years ago

The former line 5 of the Wuppertal public utilities connected the suspension railway city with the Klingenstadt
Solingen. The journey went through forests and meadows as well as over a Wupper bridge and through a
Tunnel. Tram enthusiasts spoke of one of the most beautiful German tram routes. With
The 3.2-kilometer-long preserved section still has the atmosphere of a
“Experience” the interurban railway line in the truest sense of the word. This creates a height difference of
      150 meters overcome.
The Kohlfurth and the Kaltenbachtal valleys, located in the valley, invite visitors to linger. The
Depot is the starting point for many visitors. In the immediate vicinity of Café Hubraum,
a well-known and popular motorcycle meeting point, and the beach café opens to visitors
a very special day. At the depot, interested visitors receive a free
Guided tour through the carriage hall and a look behind the scenes of the operation.
If you now drive one of the five operational railcars, you will feel a touch of the
past that slows down everyday life.
The Manuelskotten, located along the route, continues this atmosphere. The visitor receives a
Insight into the old grinding shop, where knives and scissors are still made according to old art and with
The power of the Kaltenbach river gives it its name. Further uphill, at the northern end point,
The nature lovers invite the guests for a cup of coffee. A tram ride takes
each direction, approx. 14 minutes. When you're chatting to the conductor, the time flies by.

      Whitsun - traditional tram festival

The traditional tram festival attracts hundreds of visitors to Wuppertal's Kohlfurth every year and not only amazes children. It's not just the club's beloved vehicles that move visitors, many exhibitors also present a colorful mix of what volunteering is all about.

If you're a little hungry between meals, there are both sweet and savory dishes from the club's kitchen at a family-friendly price. In addition to cake, a hot bratwurst is served on the club's own grill. The club's bar truck has the right drink for everyone.

There is also a wide-ranging program by the people of Kohlfurth around the depot.

Nicholas - like in a Christmas fairy tale

Every winter a new Christmas fairy tale begins. The journey begins in the small Christmas village at the depot, where the historic trams await their little guests. When all the guests have boarded, the journey begins and with it the search for Santa Claus.

They then arrive at one of the stops in the forest and the children are greeted by Santa Claus. Each child has the opportunity to speak to Santa Claus and the parents can take a souvenir photo. Afterwards Santa Claus hands out presents to all the children.

Finally the tram takes the guests back to the small Christmas village, where the day ends with a mulled wine with a freshly grilled sausage or cocoa and a homemade waffle.

Wedding - a journey to happiness!

With our historic trams you can literally experience the most beautiful day of your life.

We are the official wedding venue of the Wuppertal registry office. Drive into the station of marriage in our vehicles with their very own charm.

The volunteers are happy to provide further information.
