The Silbertal in Montafon is the perfect place for mystical legend experiences and legend hikes in a very special and natural mountain setting. Here you will hear stories about the Bruderhüsli, the Stieralpe, the Teufelsbach, the “night people of Silbertal” and the great magician “Kupferlari”.
The legend hiking trail starts after the mountain ride with the Montafon Kristbergbahn at the St. Agatha Chapel on the Kristberg, where you will be introduced to your mystical journey through the legend of the Agatha church and the legend of Bishop Theodul and the devil with the bell. We continue over the Kristbergsattel where you will learn why the Pope's keys are part of the Montafon coat of arms. Here begins the descent to the Bruderhüsli and the hermitage of Joss Erhard. The special location of the Bruderhüsli in the Dalaas Forest gives this place a very special atmosphere. The legend hiking trail leads back to the Kristbergsattel and from there eastwards over the Silberpfad past the Langried to the forest road. From there we continue towards "Wildried". At Tüftuala there is the legend of the shepherd boy and the treasures above and below the ground. The refreshing experience then continues at the Kneipp facility "Sieba Brünna", where the night people are up to mischief. After another 2 km, the view opens up to the "Wildried", one of the most beautiful and highest raised moors in the Alps. The legend of the rich and particularly stingy farmer stimulates one's imagination about this very special place. From here, the legend trail continues downwards past the Burtschabach and the Gretsch waterfall to "Starkes Eck", where the legend "The Alpine Doll" tells of lonely life on the Alps. At the Litzdamm, the legend "The Magic of the Copper Lari" gives an idea of ​​the power of the forces of nature. From here on you will be accompanied by the wild Litz almost everywhere. After about 3 km you come to the Teufelsbach, where the Silbertaler Tüifli lives, who has accompanied you from the beginning of your legendary hike. After the fresh breeze and the soothing energy from the Teufelsbach waterfall, the last 1.3 km are still ahead of you. This will also take you to the Silbertal open-air stage, one of the most beautiful and largest open-air stages in Europe. In July and August, you can enjoy a legendary performance that is second to none on an area of ​​over 20,000 m². From here you can also see the village center of Silbertal and the parking spaces of the Montafon Kristbergbahn.

      There is so much to tell about this cultural gem that it is best to take a miners' tour with Adolf Zudrell, the flute player from Kristberghof. He tells the story of this over 500-year-old church (mining chapel) and the miners who mined ore and stone dyes here over 1,000 years ago.

      TIP! The St. Agahta mining chapel in Vorarlberg has space for around 100 people. A miners' tour is therefore the ideal cultural experience and also a bad weather program for groups and bus travelers.
