Description Destination

This tour is not only suitable for cyclists, but also for people pushing strollers, riding tricycles and balance bikes. The Moldaublick is an oil drilling rig that has been converted into an observation tower. Anyone who climbs the 137 steps will have a wonderful view from the observation deck.
Requirement: easy; one route 4 km, 60 m elevation gain; slight inclines; Except for the last 700 m, the route runs on an unpaved and car-free forest road.
Starting point: at the large car park opposite the Panyhaus guest house in Grünwald 1, 4160 Aigen-Schlägl (48.672536,13.979313).
Info/restaurants: *Gasthaus Panyhaus, Tel 0664 9272473 www.gasthaus-panyhaus.at, closed Mon, Tues. *Jausenstation Moldaublick, Tel 0664 2563350, from 1 June open Mon and Tues from 2 to 6 p.m. and Wed to Sun from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Sep. to 31 Oct. from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. (except in bad weather; closed in winter).
Next to the parking lot at the starting point there is a toilet, a changing table and a changing room.
Entrance fee to the Moldaublick: € 2.00 for adults, € 1.00 for children (tickets available at the Moldaublick snack bar or coin machines directly at the tower for 2 and 1 euro coins).
Directions: turn right at the large parking lot and go straight on the access road. The cycle path is very well marked, just follow the signs "802 Sonnenwald cycle route". At the large intersection where the forest path meets an asphalt access road, turn right and follow it straight ahead.
