Description Destination
The Heidenreichstein Moor Nature Park, founded in 1989, is located near the town of Heidenreichstein, in the northwestern Waldviertel. It covers an area of around 30 hectares, which is owned by the Heidenreichstein agricultural community. A third of this is open raised bog, which borders the moor forest covered with spruce, pine and birch trees. Carnivorous plants, hunting spiders, mystical rock formations and much more can be discovered here, bearing witness to a 10,000-year history.

From Vienna – A22 – exit Stockerau Nord – B4 to Horn – B2 to Göpfritz – approx. 2 km after the town (roundabout) onto the B5 – Waidhofen/Thaya – after the bypass (roundabout) continue straight on – approx. 1 km after the town of Steinbruckhäuser turn left to the nature park
From Linz – via A7 and B 310 to Freistadt – on the B38 to Karlstift – B41 to Gmünd – continue to Schrems – on the L30 to Heidenreichstein – through the town (towards Waidhofen/Thaya) – at the end of the town turn right to the nature park (opposite the turnoff to Motten)
