Description Destination
In the coastal museum you can experience the archaeology of the North Sea coast, from the struggle with storm surges since the 2nd century AD to the dikes that created today's landscape. Original medieval Frisian cloths, a house of time or the child's skeleton under the stove. The castle of the Frisian chief Sibeth, where the Vitalienbrüder pirates drank, as a model - and a merchant ship for our little guests to load and board. We also tell the story of the construction of Prussia's gateway to the world - every log and every stone for the construction of the city in the mudflats had to be specially brought in before Germany's largest naval port was built here! There is the national border to discover through the bedroom, fine faience, but also the concentration camp of forced laborers of the war economy during the Nazi era.
There are also special exhibitions and a varied holiday program from our museum education department.

Either walk in 5 minutes from the main station - along Friedrich-Wilhelm-Platz to the Garrison Church, past the church to the left to the bunker and the silhouette of the old town hall, then right through Neckarstrasse and you will find us there! Or take the A29 to Wilhelmshavener Kreuz, the B210 to the Kurpark, then right into Gökerstrasse to Friedrich-Wilhelm-Platz, then right into Ebertstrasse to the Altes Gymnasium, then left into Virchowstrasse and then follow the sign to the left until you reach the car park on the right in front of the museum!
