Hellbrunn Palace was built between 1612 and 1615 by Markus Sittikus von Hohenems. Prince and archbishop at the same time, he wanted to create a place that had never existed before - and you can still feel that in Hellbrunn today.
The interactive permanent exhibition dedicated to him, "SchauLust - The Unexpected World of Markus Sittikus", can be explored with an audio guide. It includes the Room of Transience, a model of Hellbrunn, a multimedia installation on the carnival of 1618, a music room with notes rising into the sky, an interactive swivel sofa that allows you to travel between Venice and Florence, an apparatus for creating mythical creatures and ... the life-size unicorn that you absolutely have to see!
