The BEAR SANCTUARY Arbesbach is a rescue center run by the animal welfare organization FOUR PAWS. We offer bears from circuses, zoos and private owners a natural, animal-friendly home. Nestled in the pristine Waldviertel landscape, the BEAR SANCTUARY enables a completely new form of animal observation. Seven brown bears currently live here on a total of 14,000 square meters.
In addition to the opportunity to watch our bears foraging for food or enjoying a swim in one of the ponds, there is also a lot to learn about bears and nature. The interactive exhibition and the multimedia room offer an exciting stay even in rainy weather.
Active bear researchers can also test their skills in our play area, including a low ropes course and play circus.
