Description Destination
The square farm in the Traunviertel between St. Florian and Steyr, which has been passed down to 27 generations since 1420, is a contemporary witness to rural, bourgeois culture.
In the museum on the Gallhub (mentioned in prehistoric times as early as 1180), the “Nachtscherm” (the farmer’s cutlery, a spoon and a fork) is under the brightly painted bed, within easy reach under the dining table and there is an ancient green Steyr tractor in the courtyard. The first part of the museum (2,800 m2) shows hand tools and everyday objects of rural culture, including a wooden washing machine, and the second part shows the motorization of agriculture, e.g. the first agricultural implements and combine harvesters, but also old motorcycles and cars.
After the tour, you can refresh yourself with home-made cider, a good snack or a cup of coffee with fresh farmer’s doughnuts.
