The climb to the castle itself is an experience. Kilometers of defensive walls with countless loopholes line the historic footpath, which winds its way up through seven gates along eleven bastions.
For the more adventurous, there is a via ferrata that leads along the bare volcanic rock up to the castle. As an energy-saving alternative, a modern inclined elevator is also available on the north side.
The renovated castle tavern provides food and drink to ensure your physical well-being. In addition to regional delicacies, you can enjoy the castle wine, which grows directly on the castle hill, in the guest garden or parlor.
For families and especially our younger visitors, there is an exciting scavenger hunt with castle ghost Rüdiger along the historic footpath, an exciting children's audio guide through the museums as well as a friends' book rally and a great playground in the large guest garden of the castle tavern. Another highlight on the castle hill is the impressive bird of prey flight show, which fascinates young and old and completes the Riegersburg experience!

    We have a large visitor car park directly at the valley station of our castle lift. A spacious bus parking lot including a large bus turnaround area is available for coaches.

    All parking spaces can of course be used free of charge.
