The castle museum is located in the former stables of Parsberg Castle. As a hilltop castle, it is located on a limestone spur in the town centre of Parsberg in the district of Neumarkt in the Upper Palatinate in Bavaria. The complex has a long construction history that dates back to the 13th century.
The castle museum presents the history of the region as well as geological developments on an area of ​​around 1200 m².
The regional cultural and historical environment of the area is depicted through exhibits of handicrafts, textiles, sacred devotional objects and regional art. An entire floor is devoted to the topic of National Socialism in the countryside. Unique original documents shed light on the effects of the Nazi dictatorship on the region. The museum also offers individual children’s birthday parties.
The recorded history of the town of Parsberg begins with the first documented mention of the castle in 1205. Parsberg Castle is not only an extraordinary monument, but also a living testimony to Parsberg's cultural and historical past, and this regional history can be experienced in the castle museum located there.

    Beeindruckend

    Tolles Burgmuseum, das sich mit der regionalen Geschichte Parsbergs von der Frühzeit bis in die Neuzeit auseinandersetzt. Tollstes Exponat ist die Parsberger Gewandfibel aus der Laténezeit…..besonders heftig fand ich die Abteilung „Nationalsozialismus am Land“..Ein lehrreicher uns unterhaltsamer Sonntag Nachmittag.
