The most high-quality pieces from the collection are restored and presented in the museum's permanent exhibition. Here, they are complemented by mostly high-ranking testimonies to popular piety. However, the majority of the collection "slumbers" in the museum's storage room and, due to their often lower quality or poor state of preservation, generally does not find its way into the display collection.

This special exhibition now consistently presents items from the storage room and provides a broad and entertaining overview of the range of the Diocesan Museum's collections: from high art to curiosities to charmingly kitsch items.
