Description Destination
The Aldein Museum is not a village museum in the usual sense. It does not exhibit farm or craft tools, but rather sacred objects from the Baroque and Rococo periods, in such numbers and of such artistic quality that experts are amazed.
The exhibits bear witness to the veneration of saints, pilgrimages and forms of piety of that time, which are expressed in the splendor of the liturgical equipment and vestments as well as in the variety of reliquaries and panels. A baroque chalice (Augsburg work from 1750) deserves special mention for its beauty in form and material.

By car: Coming from Auer or Neumarkt, drive along the Fleimstaler road to the turnoff to Aldein / Maria Weißenstein. From there, continue along the main road for about 6 km until, after the Aldein commercial area, the road climbs up to the right into the village center. There is usually enough parking on the village square, but as an alternative, you can use the parking spaces below the community center.
By bus: The South Tyrolean public transport company SAD operates a regular line from Auer train station or from Neumarkt to the pilgrimage site of Maria Weißenstein. On this line, the bus also stops very close to the village museum in the Aldein village center. The stop is used for both the outward and return journey. Timetables: http://www.sii.bz.it/de
