Come back with us to the time when little Franzl lived in Hochburg-Ach!
During a guided tour of the local history museum, you will learn a lot of interesting facts about the simple and austere everyday life of the people in the times of Gruber and Mohr. How did people cook, eat and sleep? How was linen made? Special exhibits include the Gruber family's original loom and the piano on which Franzl practiced playing the piano.
A schoolroom from yesteryear awaits you in the Franz Xaver Gruber Memorial House:
Take a seat on an old school bench!
Try out different wooden games! Fox and hen, mill,...
Slip into the clothes of the children from that time!
Try your hand at the loom!
During a guided hike along our Peace Trail, there are many interesting things to discover and try out. On the 2 km long circular route, we offer at the lovingly designed stations not only information about the spread of the song "Silent Night", but also the history of the respective continent is vividly described (Europe around 1800, the French Wars, the development in America and Asia, Africa and slavery,...)
