At the end of the valley of Saalbach Hinterglemm is Europe’s highest treetop hiking trail. In combination with the Golden Gate Bridge of the Alps, the excursion destination represents a unique project worldwide.
The nature-oriented circular trail begins at the valley end car park and leads for two kilometres through alpine pastures, meadows and forests. The one-kilometer-long treetop path starts at the Lindlingalm with the 200-meter-long Golden Gate Bridge of the Alps. In summer, the outward and return journey (two kilometres each) can also be covered with the valley train. In winter you can explore the beautiful winter landscape either on foot or by horse-drawn sleigh.
The Golden Gate Bridge of the Alps is part of the Treetop Trail. The bridge is up to 42 m high and spans the end of the valley at the source of the Saalach. The crossing offers a breathtaking panoramic view of the surrounding mountain scenery as well as the high ropes course, whose courses lead along the side and under the bridge. The scenic centre of the treetop path is the 600 m long treetop path. A massive larch wood construction up to 30 m above the forest floor with stairs, towers, platforms and bridges.
In the middle of the treetops, great game stations on the themes of skill, knowledge and nature await explorers of all ages. The treetop trail is part of the Kids Hiking Challenge.
The Glemmtaler Baumzipfelweg offers a great excursion destination for nature lovers, families, school classes, seniors, companies, clubs and youth groups.

A coin machine is available outside of cash desk opening hours. After inserting the money, the turnstile opens (there is a coin changer on site). No treetop hats are dispensed when vending machines are in operation!
