Description Destination
The local history museum, founded in 1923, shows the more than 1000-year history of Ebermannstadt and Franconian Switzerland, as well as the brewing industry, everyday life, traditional costumes and crafts.
The museum is located on the first floor of what is now the town hall, which was built as a district court around 1862.
Prehistory and early history and archaeological finds from Franconian Switzerland are part of the presentation. In addition to fossils, other collections also include objects from the history of the earth and parts of a fossilized sea crocodile.
Personalities are also presented, such as the sculptor Friedrich Theiler (1748-1826) and the butcher Johann Georg Lahner (1772-1845). The latter was the inventor of the Vienna sausage.
