Description Destination
"Franzi" is a via ferrata with many different variations and the sporty connection through the vertical Gasselwand between the existing hiking trails of the "Reiteralm circular hiking trail".
Access to the via ferrata:
From the Preunegg Jet mountain station, a half-hour hike to the Spiegelsee takes you to the start of the Franzi via ferrata.
At the beginning, you go over inclined rock steps to beautiful climbing passages in the vertical Gasselwand. With wonderful "deep sea views" of the Untersee, you then continue to the exit. The exit is in the immediate vicinity of the existing Reiteralm circular hiking trail.
Difficulty: C/D
Duration: approx. 1 hour (on the via ferrata)
Exit: approx. 1 hour hike back to the starting point (Preunegg Jet mountain station)
The via ferrata was built as a loving memorial to the landowner Franz Trinker, who died in a tragic accident at work in 2013 - hence the name "Franzi".
