A crime trail is an interactive outdoor experience where you use your smartphone to act as a team of investigators as you explore the city. You collect digital clues, check alibis and combine evidence – flexibly and without a fixed start date. Mainz thus becomes the stage for your city rally, where you rediscover familiar places.
The story centers on a mysterious case: Max has been receiving threats for some time, but refuses to involve the police. Annika, his girlfriend's sister, asks you to find out what's behind the messages – and why Max is silent.
The investigation begins at Gartenfeldplatz and leads through Mainz's Neustadt district to Adenauer Ufer and Zollhafen. You interview those involved, gather evidence, and stay connected to the operations center via the digital investigation chat.
