Seeing – Feeling – Smelling – Hearing – Tasting: The child-friendly tour through the manufactory's demonstration workshop makes the production of Meissen porcelain tangible with all the senses.
What is Meissen porcelain? Can you hear and taste porcelain? What does it smell like when it's being painted? What does it feel like to feel a figure blindfolded?
The sensory guidance addresses these questions and transforms amazed children into knowledgeable experts in no time. In the rooms of the demonstration workshop, children and their parents as well as school classes have the opportunity during school holidays to explore Meissen porcelain with all their senses: seeing, feeling, smelling, hearing and tasting.
The informative tour explains in a child-friendly way what the porcelain mass consists of, how it is shaped and how Meissen porcelain is made. The museum's rule 'Please do not touch!' is deliberately disregarded here.
