The Museum Gugging is an art museum in Maria Gugging.
Designed as an exhibition space for the Gugging artists and the Art Brut art movement, the Museum Gugging shows the works of the artists from Gugging at the place where they were created and is also a forum for international Art Brut.
The Museum Gugging refers to Jean Dubuffet's concept of Art Brut and conducts an open scientific discourse on it. Dubuffet defined Art Brut as unadulterated art that is created spontaneously, unreflectively and free from academic influences and current trends. Since the 1970s, the artists from Gugging have been among the world's most important exponents of Art Brut.

    From Vienna: U4 to the final stop Wien-Heiligenstadt.

    From Heiligenstadt take bus 400 or the IST Austria Shuttle Bus (142 - only Mon-Fri) towards Maria Gugging/Lourdesgrotte to the stop "Maria Gugging IST Austria".

    Please get off here and follow the signs up the hill.

    TIP: On weekdays it takes just 20 minutes to get from Heiligenstadt to the museum gugging with the IST Austria Shuttle Bus. Price for a single trip: € 2.40
