Description Destination

The medieval castle ruins of Hohennagold are prominent and clearly visible from afar above the town of Nagold. They are one of the largest and most beautiful castle ruins in the country.

The ruins are a popular tourist destination in the region.

You can climb the castle hill via various hiking trails through the nature reserve. Since the hiking car park on the castle hill only offers very limited parking, we ask visitors to use the parking spaces in the town and reach the castle ruins via these hiking and walking trails.

You will be rewarded with a wonderful view of the Heckengäu, the Black Forest and, in good weather, as far as the Swabian Alb.

As a rule, the DIGEL Pavilion is also run by Nagold clubs on weekends and public holidays in summer. With cold drinks, ice cream and small snacks, hikers can relax and enjoy the peace and quiet on Nagold's local mountain.

Events also take place at the Hohennagold castle ruins several times a year.

    Wir waren mit Freunden und allen Kids. Es war einfach super. Die größeren fanden es toll eine ehemalige Prinzessinnen Behausung zu besichtigen und die kleinen genossen den Rasen im Innenhof.
