The exhibition OHAYÔ marks the conclusion of the postgraduate program “Master Students in the Weissenhof Program of Fine Arts” at the State Academy of Fine Arts Stuttgart, in which outstanding artists develop and implement independent projects within three semesters.
OHAYÔ combines in a single word what conceptually and formally connects the works of the seven master students of this year's graduating class: the return of sounds, circular movements, references to space and time – the beginning of a new cycle, a new day. In Japanese, OHAYÔ means “good morning.” In the local art and theater context, it marks the common beginning: “We begin together now.”
Guided tours for different target groups and a supporting program are offered regularly for the exhibition. Further information can be found at www.villa-merkel.de.

    Getting there by public transport
    Regional train or S-Bahn to Esslingen (a.N.); rear exit to the Neckar side; from there on the
    Footpath along the Neckar (5-10 minutes walk) to Merkelpark/Villa Merkel.
    Arriving by car
    Coming from Stuttgart, take the B10 to the Esslingen Zentrum exit; from there via the
    Vogelsang Bridge to the intersection, then turn right onto Maillestraße. At the next traffic light turn left
    into Neckarstraße, follow the signs towards the district office, turn right into Kanalstraße and after
    Turn right again at the fire station.
    Coming from Göppingen/Ulm, take the B10 to the Landratsamt/Oberesslingen exit; from
    Turn right onto the Adenauer Bridge and then left on the bridge towards the district office. To
    Turn right at the next traffic light and left before the fire station.
    Parking is available in the district office parking lots. When approaching through the centre of Esslingen
    In the vicinity of Villa Merkel there are two parking garages in Kiesstraße and at the Pliensauturm (near
    “Vogelsang Bridge”) is available. From there it is about a 5-minute walk to Villa Merkel.
    Getting there from Stuttgart Airport by S-Bahn, bus or taxi
    S-Bahn to Stuttgart Central Station; Change to line 1 towards Kirchheim (Teck) to Esslingen a.N.
    The journey takes about 35-40 minutes.
    Bus 122 from Stuttgart Airport to Esslingen-Maille station. The journey takes about 30 minutes.
