History of the Rohrerhof
The Rohrerhof, first mentioned in 1288, was once considered one of the largest farms in the valley. While it was once on the outskirts of the village, it is now in the middle of the residential areas. The spacious rooms testify to the importance of the farm; contemporary witnesses even say that at times more than 20 maids and servants worked on the farm.
After a few detours, the Sarntal community bought the farmhouse. The Rohrerhaus association now takes care of the operational activities.
The Rohrerhaus does not function as a purely static museum facility, but sees itself more as a meeting place. The living room, kitchen, parlor and a second living room have been furnished as they used to be. Plain, simple and yet with a homely character.
