The Berchtesgaden Salt Mine is located in the middle of the Berchtesgaden Alps with an impressive panoramic view of the mighty Watzmann massif. The unique chronicle of over 500 years of uninterrupted salt mining began in 1517. Salt is still actively mined in the Berchtesgaden Salt Mine today. Immerse yourself in the world of white gold and experience the special atmosphere of mining in the depths of the Alps. Only separated from the mining area by a rock face, the mine railway takes you 650m into the mountain, where you find yourself in the impressive salt cathedral. Other great highlights such as the two wooden slides or the ride on the underground salt lake will delight you!
