Description Destination
In the world's oldest visitor mine, the more than 2,600-year history of salt, the "white gold" of earlier centuries, can be experienced. You follow in the footsteps of the Celts, but also discover the world of the miners from the Middle Ages to the present day. The mine train offers a fun and comfortable ride into the salt mine, and two long miners' slides lead down to the underground salt lake.
You can also learn more about the importance of salt – known as white gold – above ground on the Celtic Adventure Mountain. Featuring the authentically reconstructed Celtic village, Austria's only show saltworks and a newly designed themed playground. Tip: The puzzle rally "The Missing Salt Amulet" is available directly on site.
Tips:
• Don't forget sturdy shoes and warm clothing!
• Children aged 4 and over are allowed to visit the salt mine. The Celtic Adventure Mountain can be explored by people aged 0 to 99.
