Description Destination

Whichever way you approach the town, you will always first see the beautiful, large bishop's castle, Bruneck Castle. It is located on an easily accessible hill above the town and looks down on the houses of the old town as if it still had to watch over the lives and safety of the citizens. The inner courtyard of the castle: in the half-round tower, the stairs lead to the upper rooms. In the right-hand wing are the prince's rooms, in the left the apartment of the administrator and originally also the staff.

The castle houses the Messner Mountain Museum "MMM Ripa" of the famous mountaineer Reinhold Messner.
