Description Destination

Prösels Castle was built around 1200 by the Lords of Völs, noble servants of the Bishops of Brixen, and expanded into a Renaissance castle complex in the early 16th century by the then Governor of Tyrol, Leonhard von Völs. The current palace complex is almost entirely the work of Leonhard. In 1981 the castle was acquired by KURATORIUM SCHLOSS PRÖSELS GmbH.
Visit Prösels Castle and spend unforgettable hours in the historic castle courtyard, in the idyllic castle chapel, in the cozy fireplace room, in the magnificent knights' hall, in the chambers of Governor Leonhard von Völs or in the fearsome armory.
Prösels Castle can only be visited as part of guided tours from May 1st to October 31st. Saturday closed
You can get your entrance tickets in the castle café next to the castle gate half an hour before the tour begins.
German and Italian speaking visitors are guided by the castle guides, for all other visitors accompanied audio guide tours in English are offered.
