Free fun for the whole family
Have you ever been to Australia, America and Africa in just one day? In our approximately 3 hectare zoo you can travel around the world – without having to travel. Whether Australian Parma kangaroos, South American yellow-breasted macaws, Madagascan ring-tailed lemurs, Diepholz moorland sheep or Westphalian dead-laying hens: with around 80 different animal species, there is plenty to discover for animal lovers big and small. The centre of the park is the Petermoor Pond, which is home to various water birds and turtles.
Picnic areas, benches and an explorer's hut invite you to rest and linger; the hut can also offer protection from a sudden rain shower. In front of the entrance there is also a small fairground hut where you can treat yourself to all kinds of sweets such as crepes or candy floss and fresh coffee.
Those who prefer to be active are also welcome - on a climbing frame, children can experience what it means to climb like a ring-tailed lemur, and in the petting zoo, funny dwarf goats are waiting to be stroked and petted.
Arriving by car is no problem thanks to a parking space directly in front of the entrance and if you are an animal lover you can of course also bring your dog, provided it is kept on a short leash.
As the first Ark Park and at the same time the youngest zoo in Germany, the Petermoor Zoo has always been committed to the preservation of native and endangered domestic animal breeds - and with great success, as our numerous offspring show.
Admission is free.
However, we would be very grateful for a donation so that we can continue to make our zoo attractive, for example by renovating existing enclosures or creating new enclosures with new animal species.
Whether bird, mammal or reptile, colorful or black, cute or impressive – we have a bit of everything.
