The Traunseetram connects the district capital of Gmunden with the communities of Gschwandt, Kirchham, and Vorchdorf and represents an important pillar of regional commuter, school, and tourist transport. The merger of the former Traunsee Railway and the Gmunden Tram to form today's Traunseetram allows travel from Vorchdorf to Gmunden Central Station and from there to the rest of the world. For now, however, just get on board, try it out and explore the region with the Traunseetram!
Gmunden's city center, swimming pools, steamer pier, Grünberg cable car, restaurants, the Salzkammergut shopping center and Gmunden train station (ÖBB) are easily and quickly accessible from the surrounding communities. Modern barrier-free vehicles ensure maximum safety and pleasant travel for all passengers.
PRE-ALPINE REGION
A ride on the Traunsee tram takes you through the beautiful Alpine foothills. On a trip starting from Vorchdorf, you can experience the picturesque landscape around and in Gmunden. Numerous hiking and excursion options, such as a hike on the trail of the horse-drawn railway or a trip to the Grünberg, are available in the region not far from Lake Traunsee.

    Overall impression

    Trotz eingleisiger Strecke schafft es die berüchtigte bahn immer wieder verspätung zu haben. Rücksicht wird auch nicht genommen wenn man gerade eben mit dem Anschluss der Öbb an kommt. (obwohl man genau sehen kann ob und wann die Öbb einfährt) Trotzdem fährt sie einfach los… bin enttäuscht
