Description Destination

Since 1403, the noble Obervogt, the highest official in Württemberg, resided in the Zollern Castle. After the castle was sold to the citizens of Balingen in 1752, it fell into disrepair over time due to misuse and was finally demolished in 1935. The water tower, the only one of the four corner towers of the Zollern Castle, can still be seen on the southeast corner of the former city fortifications. The new building was built according to the old model using historical material. The scale museum in the Zollern Castle has one of the most comprehensive collections of its kind.
