Lake Wolfsgruben is idyllically situated not far from Oberbozen between wooded, rolling hills and offers fun and relaxation in every season: in summer, its excellent bathing water quality allows for unadulterated bathing fun, patient fishermen can pull carp, pike, tench or eels out of the water, and a leisurely hike around the lake promises natural relaxation in the clear mountain air.
In winter, things are a little more lively at the lake: here, the blades glow as you ice skate! And this happens every winter, because with its shallow depth and its location at an altitude of 1,172 meters, the entire water surface of the lake freezes over completely every year.
Lake Wolfsgruben can be reached all year round on foot via path no. 15 from Oberbozen in 25 minutes. A large, free car park is available for all drivers opposite the lake. The Ritten Railway takes you to Wolfsgruben from Klobenstein or Oberbozen every half hour. From the Wolfsgruben train station, it is a ten-minute walk to the lake.

    After about 1 km you will come to a crossroads with a roundabout: here please turn towards Ritten.
    Another 2 km later, turn right again onto the Ritten road.
    After about 12 km and several meters of elevation, after the village of Unterinn, you will reach the Oberbozen / Wolfsgruben crossroads. Please keep left here. After about 2.5 km, the Wolfsgrubener See awaits you.
