Description holiday tip (inactive)
Tyrol's largest, freely accessible lake
...reflects from turquoise green to ultramarine blue. It is nestled between Karwendel & Rofan and also boasts a wide range of activities and recreational opportunities.
Sailors, surfers and kite surfers* can enjoy ideal water conditions and reliable winds here. Swimmers and divers enter their element on the bathing shores between Maurach, Pertisau and Achenkirch. The excellent water quality of Lake Achensee ensures visibility of up to 10 m underwater.
The ultra-modern leisure attraction, the Atoll Achensee in Maurach, directly on the southeast shore of Lake Achensee, has been in operation since July 2018. The SEE-Bad is particularly popular with families, offers pleasant water temperatures (approx. 22 °C) and is characterized by the gently sloping shoreline. A great, varied range of experiences for all age groups has been created on over 6,500 square meters.
Water and mountains create an uplifting mix at Lake Achensee. Over 500 km of varied hiking trails - including the Tyrolean Eagle Trail, Hochiss, Rofanspitze, Bärenkopf and Stanser Joch - bring body and soul into top form. Many beautiful hiking destinations can be reached with the summer cable cars on Rofan (Maurach) and Karwendel (Pertisau).
Mountain bike enthusiasts head towards their peaks on forest paths, single trails and rapid descents. Only paragliders who experience their high-altitude flights with the professionals at the paragliding schools stand out thanks to even better views.
