Tyrolean Unterland - simply enjoy a special family trip
The Tyrolean Unterland refers to the eastern part of the region of the federal state of Tyrol. In addition to the stunningly beautiful landscapes, the region also offers many famous cities , such as Kitzbühel and Kufstein. While Kitzbühel in particular is known for leisure activities , Kufstein offers more in the direction of the cultural and historical part. For a family trip, the Tyrolean Unterland offers a lot of variety, fun and activities to suit everyone's taste.
Each destination offers its own specialties
Whether you are interested in nature or in the traces of the past, the Tyrolean lowlands have everything to offer in a small area. This means that it only takes a short drive to get from one destination to the next. From the large park with characteristic rocky landscapes , such as those found in the Triassic Park , to the Kundler Klamm , where you can enjoy the beauty of the water , everything is on offer here.
There is also a lot for sports fans to discover. There are ski resorts as far as the eye can see, but this region is also known for its special summer enjoyment . Amusement parks with lakes and other attractions can be found around the Kaiserwinkl region, for example. So if you want to take a more relaxed approach to family time, you are certainly in good hands here.
Excursion tips for the Tyrolean lowlands
In every region there are always a few destinations that you definitely shouldn't miss and of course this also applies to the Tyrolean lowlands. Let's start with the cultural part that you can enjoy when you visit Tratzberg Castle . A fairytale castle that tells its own story and is particularly known for its majestic splendor . A breathtaking sight that will enchant young and old alike.
A similarly beautiful effect can be expected at the Schlitters herb garden-Mariengarten . A visual spectacle of what nature can offer . Partly created by nature itself, partly by man. Also ideal for a family outing .
If you prefer something a little more action-packed , we recommend the Drachental family park in Wildschönau. In addition to the exciting rollercoasters, there is a real dragon mountain, especially for the little ones, a water park and of course many other attractions . The Drachental is not just called the Dragon Valley, it is also all about the dragon. So watch out, it could get fiery.
Finally, the Steinplatte family ski area should of course also be mentioned. Here you can enjoy your free time in a particularly action-packed way . From small beginner slopes to intensive downhill runs, everything is on offer here. You don't necessarily have to be a winter fan to have fun in this area. In addition to the many runs, there is also a lot to discover off the piste. Both the landscapes and of course the locations for relaxation are very interesting here. After all, you don't always have to go full speed down into the valley. Sometimes a bit of sun on the mountain is a real treat.
