In addition to our proven radio play tour (in 8 languages), you can experience 500 years of castle history live with the unique 360° Virtual Reality Tour as an optional additional module. See with your own eyes how the former stronghold of Emperor Maximilian I fell victim to a fire in 1492, only to become the famous Renaissance jewel that has since stood enthroned near Schwaz, high above the Tyrolean Inn Valley. Afterwards, former castle owners, such as the Fuggers, will lead you “personally” through the originally furnished rooms and armouries using audio guides. Discover the hidden secret doors, marvel at the famous Habsburg Hall and learn how history was written here - and is still being written here, because Tratzberg is still the residence of the Goëss-Enzenberg family of counts.
A magical experience for the whole family
For children there are fairy tale tours in 4 languages with knights, secret doors, Sleeping Beauty's spinning wheel and more! There are also great prizes to be won in the Knight Quiz! The “Tratzberg Express” slow train takes you and your family comfortably through the romantic forest up to the castle and, after the turbulent journey through time, relaxed back to the valley. By car
Coming from Munich or Salzburg: via Kufstein, continue on the Inntal motorway towards Innsbruck until the Schwaz exit. Back towards Stans. Through the town to the Tratzberg Castle car park. From there, walk 50 meters to the slow train station.
Coming from Innsbruck, take the Inntal motorway towards Kufstein until the Schwaz exit. Continue on the main road through the town of Stans to the Tratzberg Castle car park. From there, walk 50 meters to the slow train station.
Access via Tegernsee or Bad Tölz: Along the entire Achensee. In Maurach, after the yellow Jet petrol station, turn right down to Jenbach. In Jenbach turn right at the Protestant church (Matin-Luther-Str.). Follow the road until you can only go left or right. Turn right here, out of Jenbach, until you reach the Tratzberg Castle car park on the right. From there, walk 50 meters to the slow train station.
Attention: The navigation system would like to suggest the Tratzberg settlement in Jenbach as a destination. But that is wrong! The castle is located exactly between Stans and Jenbach. So it’s best to enter Tratzberg Castle (special destinations) into your sat nav!
By public transport
Every hour an ÖBB bus (line 4111) runs from Schwaz or Jenbach train station to the visitor car park of Tratzberg Castle.
