A walk through this park becomes an experience. Archaeological monuments, different landscapes, a castle ruin, short explanations of the objects and the various animals in the enclosures provide entertainment and relaxation. Directly on the B 47, the Nibelungenstrasse, between Amorbach and Erbach / Michelstadt, in the middle of a charming landscape, lies the approximately 400 hectare English Garden at the Eulbach hunting lodge. It was built between 1802 and 1807. The architect was the court gardening director of the Electorate of Mainz and the Electorate of the Palatinate, Friedrich Ludwig von Skell, according to whose plans the landscape gardens in Wiesbaden-Biebrich, Munich and Schwetzingen were also built.
Even under Count Franz I, Roman monuments from the Odenwald were erected in the park. There were also archaeological sights from Roman times, such as the Four Gods Stone, a sacrificial stone and an inscription stone. If you follow the well-developed hiking trails with old boundary stones, which are mostly marked with the three-star coat of arms of the County of Erbach or with the Mainz wheel, you will also reach a lake with a neo-Gothic island chapel that can only be reached by boat. If you follow the path, you will reach the ruins of a castle, the "Eberhardsburg". It is an artificial ruin on an artificial hill, built with the excavated material from the pond. Furthermore, Roman sculptures, gates from the Roman forts of Eulbach and Würzberg as well as an obelisk can be admired.
The playground and wildlife enclosures are particularly interesting for families with children. Here you can also observe bison and mouflon as well as red, fallow and wild boar and – with the necessary caution – even feed them. Food can be purchased in the park.
The park is also characterized by a diversity of plants. You can find, among others, the white pine, the Norway maple, the Nordmann fir, the arborvitae, summer and winter linden trees, rowan trees, the sequoia, larches and tulip trees.
