On the Seekirchner Chapel Trail with fantastic panoramic views, you can hike or cycle from chapel to chapel: over 20 chapels are waiting to be discovered!
In the municipality of Seekirchen there are many churches, chapels and wayside shrines (“Schachern”). In order to preserve the history and stories surrounding these cultural monuments, many of them have been equipped with display boards on which you can read what only a few Seekirchen residents can still know. The new chapel path is intended to lead guests and locals alike from chapel to chapel through the wonderful landscape of the municipality of Seekirchen.
The south-west route is recommended as a cycling tour. It starts at the collegiate church and leads via Mühlberg, Mayerlehen, Mödlham, Schöngumprechting and back to the city center (22km). In some places there are large differences in altitude to overcome and there are places to stop for refreshments.
The north-east route is easier to manage (also easy to manage on foot) and offers several places to stop for refreshments. You start at the collegiate church and follow the path to Seeburg towards Zell am Wallersee, Tödtleinsdorf (Köstendorf), Unterkriechham, Waldprechting and back to the collegiate church (16.5 km)
The two routes can also be combined, see connecting section (4.3km).
On the connecting piece is the youngest of all chapels in Seekirchen, which was built by the rural youth of Seekirchen in 2014.
Parking: Short-term parking zone in the centre, Park&Ride train station, at the lidos according to the parking machine or at the Aug sports centre (entrance station 16)
