The family excursion destination offers a natural home for rescued brown bears.

Western Europe's largest bear sanctuary is currently home to 13 brown bears that were rescued from zoos, circuses and private holdings.

The BÄRENWALD Müritz, an animal welfare project by FOUR PAWS, offers such bears an alternative: In natural enclosures, the bears can rediscover their instincts and live out their natural behavior - roaming around, retreating, digging dens, bathing in the pond or hibernating.

On a walk through the forest, visitors can observe these fascinating animals, learn more about the bears and spend the day on the playgrounds, at the bistro and in the regional shop.

    Beeindruckend.

    Unser Ausflug in den Bärenwald war gefüllt mit vielen Eindrücken. Begonnen natürlich mit den Bären, die, jeder seine eigene Geschichte mitbringend, im Bärenwald ein neues und vor allem gutes Zuhause gefunden haben. Alle Tiere kommen aus prekären Verhältnissen, haben viel Leid erfahren.
    Im Bärenwald Müritz haben sie genügend Platz. Manchmal sieht man die Bären erst sehr spät, weil die Gehege so groß sind.
    Der Park ist voller Natur.
    Es gibt viele Bänke zum ausruhen und auch eine picknickwiese. Ein Ausflug lohnt sich für groß und klein. :-)
