into wonderful panoramas, informative sensory stations and impressive natural habitats. The Althodis treetop walkway is located in the middle of the Geschriebenstein-Irottkö Nature Park. Up to 20 meters above the ground, everyone gets their own personal impressions of nature and interesting facts about fauna and flora. The Althodis treetop walkway and its adventure stations are all specially designed for people with disabilities.
Several sensory stations have been installed along the 500-meter-long treetop path in Althodis. As interactive stations, these provide information about the habitats of the woodpeckers, bats and ravens that live here, as well as about useful and harmful tree dwellers, such as the various types of tree lichens, tree mosses, tree ants and tree beetles.
From hearing, tasting, smelling and feeling to seeing, the Althodis treetop walk aims to sensitize its visitors to the coexistence of man and nature. In keeping with this holistic approach, the entire treetop walkway was not only designed to be barrier-free for wheelchair users and people with walking difficulties, but all information and sensory stations were also prepared didactically for the blind and visually impaired.
From the eleven observation towers, which are up to 20 metres high, visitors not only enjoy a wonderful panorama over the Rechnitz cultural region and the Geschriebenstein-Irottkö Nature Park, but also the unobstructed view as far as the Hungarian province of Western Transdanubia, which borders Lake Balaton to the east. In the immediate vicinity of the Althodis treetop path there is also the mushroom educational trail, which provides extensive information about the mushroom species native to the nature park and their living conditions.
BARRIER-FREE: The path is built in such a way that it can also be used without restrictions by people with disabilities.
FAMILY EXPERIENCE: Families with strollers or people with walkers can manage the route without any problems. There are also interactive experience stations along the way, wooden animal models, etc.
BUS WELCOME: To ensure a smooth, beautiful nature experience, we recommend pre-registration for groups
(by phone or email).
DOGS ALLOWED: Dogs must be kept on a leash without exception - please don't forget your poop bags!

    Natur ist wunderbar

    Wir waren mit dem Enkel 5 Jahre dort und er konnte sich nicht wirklich begeistern lassen, wenn man nur durch die Sprossen an der Brücke schauen kann ist es eher unspektakulär , für uns Erwachsene ist der Ausblick und Einblick in die Wälder fantastisch. Vielleicht sollte man sich als Gemeinde oder Betreiber etwas ansprechenderes für kleiner Gäste einfallen lassen, ich denke da an einen Kinderspielplatz der die Natur wiederspiegelt oder ein wie ein Nest gestalteten Ausguck, möglichkeiten gibt es ja dank Natur fast unbegrenzt
