Four years ago, the Evangelical Free Church on Hohenzollernring implemented an innovative idea: a "winter playground" that is open from November to March. This one differs from conventional playgrounds because, although it does not have slides or swings, it is instead equipped with around 600,000 Lego bricks. Within just under half a year, an impressive Lego city will be built here. In summer, playgrounds are known to be popular places for children to slide, swing and climb when the weather is nice. But what to do in winter? This winter playground offers the ideal solution! Instead of the usual outdoor activities, children can let their creativity run wild in a large Lego city. The resulting city will ultimately be as big as an entire room!
The winter playground is open to all children who want to participate. Not only children from the community meet here, but also those from outside. Some bring their siblings, school friends or neighbors’ children with them. Alternatively, you can come directly to the community (Hohenzollernring 7) on Fridays at 5 p.m.
