Between Obermühl and Exlau there is a 7 km long asphalted and car-free path that is perfect for small and large cyclists, but also for people pushing strollers, tricycles and balance bikes, inline skaters or simply for anyone who wants to walk along the Danube and its steep banks.
It is said that in this steep, rocky terrain there are caves that once served as hiding places for smugglers and sailors.
The starting point is either directly in Obermühl (48.449968,13.920662) or at the inn and Danube Viking village in Exlau (48.412975,13.950088).
Distance: one route 7 km without significant gradients
(Attention: If you want to start in Exlau, be sure to enter Untermühl as your first destination in Google Maps. If you enter Exlau as your destination in the sat nav, the wrong route will be displayed.)
Starting from Obermühl, the path runs about 2 km downstream along the fish trail. Information boards provide interesting facts about the fish species native to the Danube. Each board also contains a 3D model of the respective fish.
