Description Destination

Families start at the visitor center in the valley and follow the KniePASS themed trail, which leads to the former fortress after about 1km and around 55 meters of elevation gain.
Equipped with the booklet – the “KneePASS” – families hike through twelve interactive stations on their ascent to the fortification. These events address the different types of borders and provide insights into the history of borders. Adults, teenagers and children have the opportunity to also confront their own limits.
Children can playfully solve puzzles and complete special tasks, making the climb an entertaining family activity. At the end of the route, which takes approximately one to one and a half hours in total if you "play through" all the stations, visitors are invited to evaluate their personal "KneePASS" and learn how they themselves deal with limits.
At the top of the fort, there are exhibitions about its history, views, and opportunities for further exploration within the fortress.

• Viper-Slide: The longest and highest tube slide in western Austria for the return trip to the valley (separate ticket available, minimum height 130cm).
• Indoor & Outdoor - Playground for children & catering in the visitor centre.
• Workshops, guided tours & events (e.g. fermentation, theatre, concerts) take place regularly.
