Not every bee makes honey. You can find out why at the Frankingen bee trail.

Free outing for children in Franking (Innviertel, Upper Austria), just a few minutes from Lamprechtshausen and the Salzburg Flachgau region. Information panels with QR codes lead to podcasts and videos about honeybees and wild bees. Also featured: a bee observation hive, insect hotels, farm golf with bee motifs, ducks, chickens, goats, and benches for a picnic.

The educational trail is located at the Pimperlhof farm, owned by the Schnitzinger family (organic farming). It was designed by Tamara Herndl, a certified bee educator from the Herndl apiary.

Guided tours for families, school classes, kindergartens and groups: from 6 people, €10 per person, registration at 0664 145 29 09.

Good to know:

March to October, free admission, duration under 1 hour
All-terrain buggy OK, dogs on leashes welcome

Only 2 parking spaces: Best way to arrive is by bike or bus (OÖVV 882 from Ostermiething local railway)
Little shade: Bring a hat and a drink
Please close the electric fence again, supervise children, and take your rubbish with you.

Tip: Inn and ice cream parlor in Franking; Holzöstersee lake can be reached quickly by bike or car.
