Out of love for the brewing tradition and pure, fresh beer, master brewers founded the "Franconian Brewery Museum in the Beer City of Bamberg e.V." association in 1979. Experience a fascinating journey through the history of beer on around 1,000 m² of exhibition space in the magnificent vaults of the former Benedictine monastery brewery (founded around 1122).
With over 1850 exhibits, we convey to you living beer culture and the exciting development from straw to glass. You can marvel at the following authentic departments: brewhouse, malthouse, fermentation and storage cellar, ice cellar, cooperage, filtration and barrel and bottle filling.
The old brewhouse houses, among other things, a training and lecture room for exciting tasting courses and beer seminars.
In addition to its technical and cultural-historical significance for the brewing industry in Franconia, the Franconian Brewery Museum also has the task of maintaining the traditions of brewers, maltsters and coopers. In addition, the FBM is an information center about beer, a delicious cultural, global and adventure drink, in the middle of the region with the most breweries in the world.
