Description Destination

On a 700 m long wooden walkway with bridges, the moor nature trail leads barrier-free through Austria's only Spirken raised bog. The wooden structure ends at an observation platform on the shore of the Moldau Reservoir. Using stations with display and educational boards, the raised moor ground beetle Carabus leads visitors through the moor. The barrier-free path to the wooden footbridge leads along the forest road and is perfect for pushing strollers (red path on the map). The hiking trail runs partly through the moor and sturdy shoes are required (green path on the map).
Difficulty: Easy; 40 m; gentle to moderate gradients; The barrier-free version is of course also suitable for strollers.
The trail is ideal for hikers who enjoy walking. There are many streams and small ponds along the way that provide variety and fun. The highlight is of course the long wooden walkway with the viewing platform. By the way, it is also a great place to have a rest. Don't forget to change clothes. Attention: After rainy days the wooden walkway is partly slippery.
Shortly before the border crossing, the path branches off to the right towards Bayrische Au. It is very well signposted. Simply follow the yellow signs marked Bayrische Au and Naturerlebnisweg. Same way back as out.
